Dear Teiresians,
We hope you have all survived the third block of classes or are busy finishing your final assignments! Now that the stress of deadlines past is somewhat subsiding, we have a number of fun and interesting events planned for you! One of these is the city walk by our very own travelcommittee, which we hope will be the first physical event of the year!

New Discoveries Seminar

These seminars we have shared with you before are on for block 4! We are working hard to see whether we can also work with OIKOS to make it an event where you can earn ECTS as well! Every three weeks a scientist or historian will tell us of his or her groundbreaking work! These seminars are organised by the department as well, more information can be found on https://newdiscoveries.sites.uu.nl/.

6th of May, Interklassiek Symposium

Our annual Interklassiek symposium will be held online this year. A number of great speakers have already confirmed and will be presenting on the topic of “Believing Myth”. More information on the speakers can be found on the flyer accompanying this email! From Utrecht, our very own dr. Janric van Rookhuijzen will be giving a very interesting lecture on the myth of Athena & Poseidon, who struggled for hegemony over Athens. Travel Committee City Walk

Next month, May 29th, the Travelcommittee will take you on a city walk through Utrecht. In small groups, each accompanied by a teacher, we will come across the secret pearls of the history of Utrecht. Our teachers will tell us more about our interesting city, either in real life or through a video. The walk will take from around 13:00-16:00 and will hopefully if the covid-measures allow it, end in an actual borrel! If you’re enthusiastic you can come around 12:00 and get lunch with us (who doesn’t like a broodje Mario?). The activity is FREE of charge, but we would like to know whether you’d be interested so please shoot us a message at reiscommissie.teiresias@outlook.com.
