Dear Teiresians,

We hope you are all enjoying your well-deserved summer break and are all in good health! The board has been busy and we would like to bring you up to speed on our progress so far. First of all, we would like to thank our predecessors of the 2019-2020 board for all their hard work and dedication to our student association. After the busy online general assembly of members in which we were presented as the new board for 2020-2021 it is now up to us to continue their good work.

We have been busy this summer break, which is why we wanted to update you through this newsletter. In previous years, Teiresias Student Association has been ancient history oriented and focused on providing events and education geared towards ancient historians. We would like to share with you the positive announcement that Teiresias is expanding its scope, events, and educational opportunities to happily welcome and include all RMA master’s students and all bachelor students interested in Renaissance, Medieval, Insular, and Ancient studies. This means extending the monthly drinks invitation to the above-mentioned students as well as providing a few events and educational related activities that are also inclusive of medieval and renaissance periods. We welcome you all!

Through our partnership with Athenaeum Bookstore located in Amsterdam, we have arranged a discount on study related books. We have received emails from several of you regarding serving on a committee, but we can always use more enthusiastic members to serve on them! Would you like to serve on a committee? Please contact us via email if you would like more information, or visit our website.

Concluding, we would like to invite you all to our monthly Thursday drinks at our favorite place: Café De Stadsgenoot at 20:00 on September 3, 2020.

As a reminder, we will follow all COVID-19 safety measures and guidance in correlation with RIVM and Utrecht University.
